British Columbia's Mountain Playground
The Kootenay Rockies region in the southeast corner of BC, borders the province of Alberta and the U.S. border. It includes four spectacular national parks: Glacier, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke and Yoho, as well as over 75 provincial parks. The Rocky Mountains rise in the east part of the region, parallel with the ranges of the Purcell, Selkirk and Monashee (Columbia Mountains) which traverse north to south across the region to the beginning of the Okanagan area.
